Religious Education
Mission statement:
By becoming part of the Temple Sholom
Religious School:
- Our students will understand the concept that Torah is a guide
to use in our daily lives.
- Our students will understand the concept of Avodah, worship, as
the worship and work that we do to make the sacred connection to God,
community and self; to become aware that the lofty God of the prayer book
hears our own prayers.
- Our students will understand the concept of G’milut Chasadim as
our responsibility to engage in acts to make the world a better, holier
place.
We
provide:
- Bar/Bat Mitzvah instruction
- Individual instruction
- Tutoring
- An open classroom for all ages, with “learning stations” for Jewish
history, Hebrew language, Shabbat and holiday observance, and other
topics.
- Periodic “family education”:
an opportunity for parents and children to worship together and learn
in an interactive setting.
